राष्ट्रीय मानवाधिकार आयोग (एनएचआरसी) ने सोशल मीडिया पर बाल यौन शोषण सामग्री में 250 से 300 प्रतिशत की वृद्धि की मीडिया में आयी खबर पर संज्ञान लिया है। आयोग ने इस पर चिंता जताते हुए दिल्ली पुलिस आयुक्त व सभी राज्यों व केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों के पुलिस महानिदेशक (डीजीपी) , नेशनल क्राइम रिकार्ड ब्यूरो के निदेशक तथा केंद्रीय इलेक्ट्रानिक्स एवं सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्रालय के सचिव को नोटिस जारी किया है।

सोशल मीडिया पर बाल यौन शोषण सामग्री बढ़ने के बारे में आयी रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक वर्ष 2023 में अबतक बाल यौन शोषण सामग्री के प्रसार के लगभग 450207 मामले सामने आए हैं। इनमें से दिल्ली पुलिस ने 3039 मामलों में कार्रवाई की है। इसके अलावा अभी 447168 मामलों का अध्ययन किया जा रहा है।
