मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने केन्द्रीय रिजर्व पुलिस बल कैंप मुख्यालय हल्द्वानी में आयोजित पूर्व अर्धसैनिक बलों के सम्मेलन को सम्बोधित करते हुए कहा कि अर्धसैनिक बलों के वीर जवानों ने कश्मीर से कन्याकुमारी और कच्छ से अरुणाचल तक हर मोर्चे पर अदम्य साहस, शौर्य और समर्पण के साथ देश की सेवा की है। तिरंगे की शान को बढ़ाने में इन वीर सपूतों का योगदान अविस्मरणीय है। उन्होंने अर्द्धसैनिक बल के जवानों को वीरता, साहस और देश भक्ति का प्रतीक बताते हुए उन्हें राष्ट्र की शान बताया। इस अवसर पर मुख्यमंत्री ने अर्द्धसैनिक बलों के कल्याण के लिए घोषणा की कि भविष्य में प्रेजिडेन्ट पुलिस मेडल-गैलेन्ट्री वीरता पदक से अलंकृत होने वाले अर्द्धसैनिक को एकमुश्त 05 लाख रूपये की अनुदान राशि दी जायेगी,

पूर्व अर्द्धसैनिक एवं अर्द्धसैनिक की वीर नारी, जिसके पास स्वयं की कोई अचल सम्पत्ति नहीं है, को उत्तराखण्ड राज्य में जीवनकाल में एक बार अचल सम्पत्ति क्रय किये जाने में स्टाम्प शुल्क में 25 प्रतिशत तक की छूट दी जायेगी, उत्तराखण्ड राज्य अर्द्धसैनिक बल कल्याण परिषद् को क्रियाशील किया जायेगा और परिषद् के लिए पुलिस मुख्यालय में एक कार्यालय कक्ष आवंटित किया जायेगा, सैनिक कल्याण निदेशालय में उपनिदेशक (अर्द्धसैनिक) एवं बड़े जिलों के जिला सैनिक कल्याण कार्यालयों में सहायक जिला सैनिक कल्याण अधिकारी (अर्द्धसैनिक) के एक-एक पद स्वीकृत किये जायेंगे, जिसमें पूर्व अर्द्धसैनिक संविदा में नियुक्त किये जायेंगे, जो अर्द्ध सैनिक बलों के बच्चे हैं, उनको शादी हेतु हमारे सैनिकों के भांति धनराशि प्रदान की जाएगी तथा मुख्यमंत्री ने सीजीएचएस भवन निर्माण हेतु तत्काल प्राथमिकता देते हुए भूमि चयन करने के निर्देश जिलाधिकारी को दिए।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि सैनिक कभी भी ‘भूतपूर्व’ नहीं होता, वह जीवनपर्यंत सैनिक ही रहता है। उन्होंने बताया कि वे स्वयं एक सैनिक परिवार से आते हैं और सैनिकों व उनके परिवारों की चुनौतियों को नजदीक से समझते हैं। शहीदों की शहादत की कोई कीमत नहीं हो सकती और राज्य सरकार का दायित्व है कि उनके परिवारों को किसी प्रकार की कठिनाई न होने पाए।
